I bought the car last summer (2004) for £50. When I bought it, it was a standard pink viva, with a twin choke weber on the standard 1256cc engine.
Firstly I put thrush side pipes on, but then replaced them with a custom exhaust which is now straight through and exits in front of the o/s/r wheel.
The rear end is jacked up by 4" and an axle light now hangs underneath. The wheels are Cobra Drag Slot alloy wheels, 7"x14" on the rear and 7"x13" on the front.
Inside it has Clubman bucket seats and Sabelt harnesses. The rear seats have been stripped out and whole of the rear area is painted black.
I have fitted a big rev counter and Mountney steering wheel with home made centre.
The engine is still a 1256 with twin choke weber on, but soon I hope to change it for either a v8 or a 2.3 magnum lump.
The shell was sorted out and has now been totally re-sprayed in matt black with the yellow and red flames. It has got custom mirrors and a frenched radio aerial on the rear quarter.
It has custom sign writing on the back to replace the badges. I have tried to keep it as much a 70's custom as possible and everyone has said it's just how they remembered custom cars to be back in the day.
Marc.
